Euclid Avenue - Innerbelt to East 79th Street (CO#3)
- (Posted: 4.23.08) RTA Opens Second Segment for Median Station Bus Operations
RTA will begin operating its Route #6 buses along the new median stations from East 55th Street to East 86th Street on
April 27, 2008. This is the second segment to open up along Euclid Avenue. Median bus operations will now operate from East
17th to East 86th Street. Safely walk at the designated crosswalks to reach the platforms as traffic patterns have changed. Jaywalking
fines will be enforced.

- (Posted: 11.26.07) Euclid Corridor Construction Alert - East 59th - E. 79th Street
Please be advised beginning November 29, the eastbound and westbound traffic lanes on Euclid between the intersections of East 59th and
East 79th streets will shift to the curb lanes. This shift will close off the middle of the road and allow crews to complete the median work.
Property owners and tenants within this area will no longer be able to cut through the median. Driveway access will be right in and out only.
Reminder: The RTA will begin operating its existing buses along the median platform from East 17th to East 55th Street on November 26, 2007. The route
#6 will be the only bus operating along this median.

- (Posted: 11.12.07) Traffic Pattern Altered From East 79th - East 86th Street
Please be advised that during the week of November 19, traffic will shift between East 79th and East 86th Streets. East and westbound
Euclid Avenue traffic will shift to the curb lanes. The middle of the road and all driveway cut throughs will be closed. As westbound
Euclid Avenue traffic approaches East 79th Street, it will shift to the South side lanes of Euclid.

- (Posted: 9.18.07) East 71st Street Closure - September 26, 2007
Please be advised that East 71st Street/Euclid will be closed to through traffic on September 26, 2007. Construction
crews will remove and reconstruct the north half of Euclid Avenue at the E. 71st intersection. North and southbound traffic will be impacted. Northbound
traffic from Carnegie Avenue will have access to Euclid Avenue. Southbound traffic from Chester will need to follow the detour to East 79th Street.
Work is expected for up to three weeks.

Beginning October 1, East 65th Street will be open ONLY to southbound traffic due to intersection reconstruction. The northbound
traffic lane of East 65th will close to through traffic. The posted detour will direct traffic to East 59th Street and Chester for access to East
65th Street.
East 65th Street southbound traffic will be posted one way within the work area. Two-way traffic will be maintained from Chester Avenue to the work area.
Detours are expected for up to six weeks.

- (Posted: 8.21.07) RTA Operators Begin Vehicle Training for the Euclid Corridor Project on August 27
Weather permitting, on Monday, August 27, RTA Operators will begin training for the Euclid Corridor operations along the median
platforms from East 30th to East 55th Street, eastbound for approximately four weeks. Testing will operate between the hours of
10:30am - 2:30pm weekdays and 6:00am - 6:00pm on weekends. A dry run will be conducted Friday, August 24,
2007 from 10:00am - 1:00pm.
Transit Police Officers and flaggers will assist with directing traffic as needed. Traffic enforcement will be in effect. No U-turns, stopping,
jaywalking or parking will be permitted in the construction zone.

Please be advised that beginning Tuesday, August 7, East 79th Street at Euclid will be closed to through traffic for three weeks
. Construction crews will remove and reconstruct the south half of the Euclid Avenue and East 79th Street intersection. This work will impact
the North and Southbound traffic on East 79th. Southbound traffic from Chester Avenue will have access to Euclid Ave. Northbound traffic from Carnegie
will need to follow the detour to East 71st Street.

- (Posted: 7.16.07) Euclid Corridor Construction Alert - E. 66th - E. 79th Street
Please be advised of the following traffic pattern changes and closures along Euclid Avenue:
Beginning July 30, the intersection at East 66th Street will be closed to through traffic for up to five weeks due to
utility lowering and reconstruction;
Also on July 30, the West side of the East 79th at Euclid intersection will be closed for reconstruction. West side traffic will shift
into single Northbound and Southbound lanes. Both the Northbound and Southbound left turn lanes on East 79th Street will be removed as part of the
traffic plan. Work is expected for up to six weeks.
On August 6, traffic patterns will change from East 71st - East 79th Street from the North side of Euclid onto the new pavement. Traffic
will shift to the north lanes as it approaches East 79th Street. The median curb is now lining the north edge of the new road and will prohibit traffic
from crossing. The East 75th and East 77th intersections will be permanently closed to through traffic.

- (Posted: 7.3.07) Euclid Corridor Construction Alert: E. 59th - E. 79th Street
Please be advised that traffic patterns will be altered beginning July 9 from E. 59th Street and continuing to E. 70th Street. Traffic
will be shifted to the North of the old asphalt lane near E. 70th Street. In part, the median curb is now lining the North edge of the new road and will
prohibit traffic from crossing. The following intersections will be permanently closed to through traffic: E. 61st, E. 63rd, and E. 69th.
Beginning July 12, the southbound traffic lane at E. 71st Street will be closed for intersection reconstruction. Posted detour for
southbound E. 71st Street will be E. 79th Street. Traffic will be maintained traveling North on E. 71st. Road will reopen with through
traffic operations approximately three (3) weeks after work begins.

East 71st Street Closure - Approximately Three Weeks: The northbound traffic lane of East 71st Street at Euclid will be closed beginning
June 15, 2007 for intersection reconstruction. Detour signs for East 71st Street will direct traffic to East 79th Street. Traffic traveling south across
Euclid will be maintained.
E. 69th, E. 70th, and E. 77th will open to traffic on Friday, June 22, 2007.

On May 23, between 6:00am and 6:30am, there will be movement of paving equipment on Euclid Avenue between East 65th Street and East 79th Street that
will require traffic stoppage in this area. Travelers should expect delays and plan accordingly.

- (Posted: 4.26.07) Euclid Corridor Construction Update - East 55th Street (North and Southbound Impacts)
Beginning May 10, the east side lanes of East 55th from Chester to Prospect Avenue will close. North and southbound E. 55th Street
traffic will be constricted to a single lane in each direction and maintained in the west side lanes. Construction work and
closures are expected up to five (5) weeks. Watch for all posted traffic and detour signs.

- (Posted: 4.18.07) Euclid Corridor Construction Update: East 55th to East 81st Street
On April 18th (today) pavement removal and reconstruction of Euclid Avenue from East 55th - East 81st Street will
begin.
Euclid Avenue will be closed to through traffic between the intersections of East 55th Street and East 61st Street. Traffic will be
detoured at East 55th and East 61st and directed to Chester Avenue.
Lanes will also be narrowed to one lane in each direction between East 61st and East 81st Street on the north side while the south
side is under construction. Watch for all posted traffic and detour signs.

- (Posted: 4.2.07) Euclid Corridor Construction Update: East 55th Street Intersection
Beginning April 10, weather permitting, traffic lanes will shift at East 55th Street for pavement removal work in the
Northwest Quadrant.
The Eastbound traffic will run on the new pavement starting at the Agora (5000 Euclid) and continue to the East 55th Street intersection.
Traffic on East 55th Street will shift to the Northbound lanes to accommodate the construction work zone in the two Southbound lanes.
One lane each north and south bound will be maintained on East 55th between Chester and Prospect.

weather permitting. Traffic will be able to travel North and South through the Euclid Avenue intersection. For more information,

- (Posted: 3.12.07) Pavement removal and reconstruction of Euclid Avenue between East 55th Street and East
81st Street (south side) will begin March 22, weather permitting. Euclid Avenue will be narrowed to one lane in each
direction between East 55th Street to East 81st Street. Traffic will utilize the north lanes while construction takes place.
The intersections between East 55th - East 61st Street will be closed for through traffic. Traffic will be detoured
and directed to Chester Avenue from East 55th Street and East 61st Street.

- (Posted: 2.26.07) Weather permitting, on March 8, 2007 the traffic
lanes between the Innerbelt andd East 40th Street will shift to the curb lanes East and West bound between the
hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The new traffic pattern will direct westbound traffic to the North curb lanes and eastbound
traffic to the South curb lanes.
A construction work zone will be installed in the median to complete the station foundations in this area. Traffic beyond
the Innerbelt and East 40th Street will continue its current traffic patterns. Please watch for all posted traffic

- (Posted: 1.25.07) Beginning February 1, 2007, weather permitting, traffic patterns on the north
side of Euclid Avenue will be changed into two separate lanes of traffic. Eastbound traffic will use the south curb lane and
westbound traffic will use the north curb lanes for operations. Traffic transition areas will be located at the east end of the

- (Posted: 1.23.07) Please be advised, weather permitting, East 30th Street will open to through
traffic by Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Traffic will be able to travel north and south through the Euclid Avenue

- (Posted: 1.10.07) On January 15, 2007 please be advised, weather permitting, conduits will be installed across
E. 55th Street just north of Euclid Avenue, for up to one week. The northbound and southbound travel lanes will be narrowed to a
single lane in each direction. Traffic control devices will be operating along with police officers directing traffic as needed.
Expect minor delays during non-rush hour periods.
Beginning January 22, RTA will begin roadway construction at E. 55th Street which will impact traffic traveling north and
southbound. North and southbound E. 55th Street traffic will be constricted to a single lane in each direction. The west lanes of
E. 55th Street will be closed from Chester Avenue to Prospect Avenue. Traffic will be maintained in the East traffic lanes. This
work is expected to be under construction for up to five weeks.
- (Posted: 12.5.06) Please be advised that all traffic lanes (westbound) at East 66th Street will
re-open tDecember 5, 2006; E. 66th Street re-opens December 6, 2006 at 5 PM.
- (Posted 8.4.06) Please be advised that E. 36th Street will be closed between Euclid Avenue and Chester beginning
August 7. Northbound traffic may turn left or right on Euclid Avenue. Local access will be permitted from Chester Avenue to the
limits of construction. Use E. 40th as the designated detour route.
- (Posted 7.13.06) On Friday, July 14, 2006, Euclid Avenue will be narrowed down to one lane between East 36th
and East 40th Street between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM in order for construction crews to complete the next concrete pour.
Traffic control officers will be on site to maintain traffic within the work zone.
- (Posted 5.7.06) The North side of Euclid Avenue has been closed from the Innerbelt to E. 55th Street; construction
crews are starting to remove pavements; two-way traffic will be maintained on the South side of Eucid Avenue. For more information,

Street. During the Summer of 2006 work on the North side will be completed and work on the South side will begin with anticipation
